HIP wishes to acknowledge and thank the organizations who
have sponsored HIP projects, donated volunteer labor and
materials to help HIP maintain its housing and keep it affordable
for very low income people with special needs.
HomeDepot
Community Impact’s HomeDepot team really touched the resident
in one of HIP’s projects. Team members landscaped the front
of the property and painted the interior of a two-bedroom
unit during CI Day 1998. HomeDepot not only supplied the
volunteer labor, but they also provided all landscaping
and painting supplies. Noting that the vintage carpet needed
to be replaced, they went above and beyond the call of duty
by replacing it free of charge. The resident at the site
said no one had ever done such things for him in his 69
years.
Kelly Moore
Kelly Moore has donated over 200 gallons of paint to help
HIP keep its projects in tip-top shape. They go out of their
way to provide great service without making a dime.
NARPM
The San Jose Chapter of the National Association of Residential
Property Managers (NARPM) sponsored renovation of one of
HIP’s projects. The project serves six very low-income people
with psychiatric disabilities. Some 30 NARPM members and
affiliates raised over $1,000 to help with the project,
trimmed back a heavily overgrown yard, painted the exterior,
fixed all the appliances, and replaced window coverings,
flooring and water closets during May 1998. The transformation
of the property was truly astonishing.
Netcom
CI’s Netcom volunteers painted the exterior of a spacious
single family home in East San Jose during CI Day 1998.
They did such a good job painting, neighbors wandered by
to see if this team could paint their homes too!
