Calligrapher-
Fill out certificates of participation for supporters raising funds in current campaign.
Letter Writer-write thank you notes to donors of cash and goods during current fund raising drive.
Inventory Assistant-Assist staff in developing a list of content of our offices. Assist in recording serial numbers, identifying features and mark with ID#.
Record/File Organizer-Sort, purge and organize 20 years of project and administrative records. This is a BIG project, suitable for someone who appreciates a challenge and who really likes to organize.
Newsletter assembler-help fold, attach address label and otherwise prepare newsletter for mailing on a quarterly basis

   
MARKETING, PUBLIC RELATIONS, DESIGN
Graphic Designer-Assist HIP in developing a new corporate logo. Provide advice and assistance in design of newsletter and promotional materials.
Desktop Publishing Professional-assist in production of quarterly newsletter. Provide advice and expertise in developing promotional materials such as brochures. Assist in design of new corporate logo.
Media Specialist (public relations)-assist HIP in developing a public relations program, advise on how to approach print and other media. Advise HIP on how to best present the agency at board and other conferences.
   

HANDS-ON

Fence Builder/Mender-repair or replace fences on affordable housing sites as needed. Inspect fencing and recommend repair options to HIP.
Plumber-Perform plumbing services as needed for affordable housing units. Perform such tasks as toilet/sink replacement or repair, appliance installation and leak repair. Inspect plumbing in housing units and make repair recommendations.
Electrician-Perform electrical services as needed for affordable housing units. Perform such tasks as smoke detector installation, replace light fixtures, and install electrical appliances. Inspect electrical in housing units and make repair recommendations.
Handyman-Do painting or minor repairs, install appliances as needed on affordable housing units.
Landscaper/Gardener-Adopt a project and provide basic yard maintenance on regular basis. Would include mowing lawn, trim bushes and trees, and plant color-spot flowers.
Tree trimmer-Trim and/or remove trees as needed. Inspect trees and make trimming/removal recommendations.
Roofer-make repairs or replacements as needed. Inspect projects and make repair recommendations.
   

BOARD MEMBER/COMMITTEE MEMBER

Board Member-Fund Development-Chair of fund development committee. Recruit additional members for the committee. Advise members on fund raising options and risks based on available resources. Assist in development and coordination of fund raising activities. Attend monthly board meetings. Provide general support and guidance to HIP.
Committee member Fund Development- Assist in development and coordination of fund raising activities.
Board Member-Legal advisor-Review contracts and advise board regarding personnel and property management issues as needed. Attend monthly board meetings. Provide support and guidance to HIP. Assist in fund raising activities.
Board Member-Real Estate Advisor-Provide expertise to board on issues related to property management and development of affordable housing units. Attend monthly board meetings. Provide support and guidance to HIP. Assist in fund raising activities.
Board Member-Construction Advisor-Provide expertise to board on issues related to building maintenance and repair as well as development of affordable housing units. Attend monthly board meetings. Provide support and guidance to HIP. Assist in fund raising activities.
   

MANAGING / COORDINATING

Raffle manager-assist in developing a raffle of prizes for fund-raisers in current campaign. Develop process for determining winners and delivery of prizes.
Donor Coordinator-develop system for tracking donors during current fund raising drive. Assist in identification of top fund raising volunteers.
Prize coordinator-approach businesses close to affordable housing projects; solicit donation of prizes for current fund raising effort. Arrange for pick-up and delivery. Assist in writing thank-you letters to donors.
Volunteer coordinator-assist HIP in developing a program to best utilize volunteer resources. Assist HIP in expanding volunteer resources.

   

GRANT RELATED

Grant Writer-Assist HIP staff in writing grant applications for funds to assist HIP in improving current housing projects, upgrade office equipment and computers, research on local housing needs etc.
Grant researcher-Review resources in Non-Profit Development Center library. Identify grants that would assist HIP in improving current housing projects, upgrade office equipment and computers, research on local housing needs etc.
Case Statement Writer-assist HIP in development of a current case statement for use in writing grant applications.
   

COMPUTER RELATED

Database designer-design and set up a database for mailing/contact list using Access 7.0. Suggest other projects, which might assist HIP. Train staff on maintenance of database.
Data Entry-Input information from various sources into Access database to build mailing list.
   

WORK AT HOME

Reader/researcher-Read current publications, collect and organize all articles relating to affordable housing issues in the local area. Can be done at home, on own schedule.
